This pen is made from a manzanita burl from Oregon. A burl is a growth on a tree that creates unique patterns. It is not know what causes burls, but soil condition, stress, bacteria or fungus are thought to be contributing factors. The stone inlayed is tuquoise, and the finish is a har acrylic, scratch risistant finish buffed to a high gloss. The ink is black and takes parker style refills that can be obtained at any office supply store.
